When the UK went into lockdown in the spring of 2020, we wanted to engage our students positively at a most uncertain and surreal time, so we launched the Take Flight Academy Virtual Choir, featuring our Patron, West End and Broadway star, Rachel Tucker, singing the song “Brave” by Sara Bareilles.
It was a wonderful experience that brought together, the three areas of our school, featuring students from our after school, Musical Theatre and Acting classes, along with our Saturday School students and even some ex-students of ours who were super-keen to be involved!
Due to the high-standard and positive reaction we got from putting together our VIRTUAL CHOIR, we decided to use this video and our subsequent “Lockdown Challenge”, to help raise money for the NHS. We set up a JustGiving page to allow all our families to donate, to help support our NHS Heroes and say a huge thank you to them all, including all volunteers and key workers.
